Buying ready to use spices, such as red chili powder, black pepper powder, turmeric powder, and dry coriander powder can be a good way to save time and money but can you make it sure that they are pure. Can you make sure that you are not being cheated by offering spices mixed with impurities like brick red powder in red chili powder, powder of dry papaya seeds in black pepper powder, etc? If your answer is yes, then enjoy buying and using ready to use spices but if your answer is no or not sure, then you should not buy readymade spices because they can be harmful to your health.

You shall grind spices at home in a mixer grinder, which is not a difficult task. Yes, if you compare the price of homemade spices with the spices available in the market then you may find homemade spices little bit costly than the readymade spices. It is obvious because of the following reasons:

  • Readymade spices available in the market are produced in bulk due to which their production expenses get reduced. Marketers take the benefit of that reduced expense to get more sales.

  • Readymade spices may contain impurities that are available free. For example, if ten kg of red chili powder contain about 500 mg of red brick powder, which is available free then the manufacturer will earn more money. By adding, impurities in the spices, you are offered low price but your health is put at risk.

These are the reasons behind the reduced price of readymade spices. Though, the price of readymade spices is less, they may not be good in quality. On the other hand, homemade spices are costly but they are pure, due to which your health is not at risk. And obviously health is the first factor that everyone cares for. Everyone seeks for good health.

How to Grind Spices at home?

You can grind spices at home using a mixer grinder, which is available at everyone’s home. Before you start grinding spices at home, you must have to make sure about the following:

  • Make sure that you have purchased good quality of whole spices like Red chili, Black pepper seeds, Turmeric, etc.
  • Make sure that the whole spices are completely dry before you put them in the mug of the mixer grinder.
  • Never grind them in bulk rather prepare spices in small quantity.

After you have grinded spices as per your requirements, keep them at room temperature for few minutes before putting in a jar. If you directly put them in jar then they will get spoiled soon.
