File ‘META-INF/encryption.xml’ in EPUB not listed in manifest!

Your .epub file is missing one or more elements in its manifest. A complete manifest is required for distribution to Apple. Here’s how Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/EPUB) defines “Manifest”:”The manifest element lists all the files contained in the package. Each file is represented by an item element, and has the attributes id, href, media-type. All XHTML (content documents), stylesheets, images or other media, embedded fonts, and the NCX file should be listed here.”

Please contact your .epub designer and ask them to repair your manifest. …

After getting the error message, I checked the ePUB and could not locate any such mistake due to which this error was coming. I checked NCX file as well. And, in the last, I read the error message once again and come to the point that it is not accepting the Fonts embedded in the book.

I removed the embedded fonts and their paths as well. After that I saved the file and sent back to my client. He uploaded the file and it was a success.

Note: Most of the publishers do not allow embedding fonts in the ePUB file, and if you embed fonts then it may result in META-INF/encryption.xml error. Hence, it is better to avoid embedding fonts in ePUB files.

This is how to Resolve the File META-INF/encryption.xml in EPUB not listed in manifest Error. I hope this post is helpful to you.
